An amazing evening at our annual pre-Pride event 🌈 with LGBTQ+ friends and colleagues from across the Dublin life sciences community. Huge thanks to Minister Roderic O’Gorman (Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth) for coming to speak with us and sharing his perspective on progress made for LGBTQ+ rights in Ireland, and the work still to be done. Also, we’re incredibly grateful for our hosts and pro-bono lawyers, William Fry, and to GMU.photography for capturing the event for us. Looking forward to the next event in September! Happy Pride!

Our first OUTbio Dublin event of 2023, held in All My Friends, Meath St, was perhaps our most special to date. Adam Shanley (HIV Ireland) gave an incredibly insightful talk to our OUTbio attendees. An informative, engaging and dog-friendly evening was held by all and the OUTbio Organizing Committee thank Adam for taking the time to educate and collaborate with our wider group.

Our Christmas themed event in Lemon & Duke was originally planned to include a talk from Adam Shanley of HIV Ireland, however an influx of Christmas parties resulted in the OUTbio group occupying a festive patio instead, postponing the talk. Nevertheless, food & fun was had with even more new faces to end our OUTbio 2022 calendar with.

OUTbio Dublin event number four took place at Street66, Parliament Street. New faces joined this event since our previous Pride event and we discussed further plans for future speakers and outreach to more LGBTQ+ connections.

Our third event was quite special, as we partnered with ICON and hosted a drag event. Allies from Gilead Sciences also joined along to celebrate pride and this resulted in our biggest event yet, with 50+ attendees.

Our second OUTbio Dublin event was held in Roberta’s, Temple Bar. This event introduced new members, more connections & involved a significant amount of Pizza.

In February 2022, we hosted our very first OUTbio Dublin networking event downstairs in Pantibar, Capel Street. The focus of this event was to share our vision for OUTbio Dublin, get to know each other and talk about our plans ahead.
